About Rescue+Life
One Goal. One Mission. Rescue Life.
Rescue Life Sanctuary, easily described as a slice of heaven for unwanted or abused animals, is a 5013C non-profit organization in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Founded in December 2013 Rescue Life is the corner of happy, healthy, and safe for so many sweet angels. It currently houses horses, ranging from thoroughbreds to drafts to minis, dogs, cats, zebras, alpacas, donkeys, birds, pigs and more. Megan Weinberger didn’t buy a zoo, but she’s creating a safe paradise for animals in need, many that will never leave. They may be messy and a bit loud, but they’ve stolen the hearts of the Weinberger family.
A beautiful and unique aspect of Rescue Life includes its outreach and partnership with local charities including Dream Ride Foundation (benefiting Special Olympic Athletes), ELS for Autism, Kid Sanctuary Foster Home, Place of Hope, adult special needs living facilities as well taking our certified therapy dogs to local schools and reading to children.
“A safe paradise for paws, hooves, wings, and more!”
Besides simply being adorable, and lovable, many of these precious fur babies earn their keep by visiting with the kids at these charities as well as going to schools in and around Palm Beach County building awareness and educating children about caring for pets and treating all animals with compassion. With the touch of a paw, a lick of tongue, or fuzzy nuzzle, the smile on the faces of these kids is priceless.
There is no end in sight for Rescue Life and its devotion to saving animals, opening its doors to those who need some fur baby love, and continued education about being an advocate for animals and for those who share our compassion and kind-heartedness for all animals.
Megan Weinberger
Owner, & Founder of Rescue Life
Meg has been rescuing animals since she was a teenager. Today her and her husband have over hundred animals ranging from mini horses, donkeys, alpacas, dogs, cats, pigs, cows and zebras! I call Rescue Life my home away from home and I’m also a board member. It’s heaven on earth to be around these incredible creatures. It’s a million times better than going to the zoo. That being said we are all aware that any of these animals can be dangerous no matter much you handle them and we are extremely cautious. Our zebras were rescued from life threatening situations and would most likely not do well in a zoo and def not in their original wild habitat. We have one of the most amazing trainers who has worked with zebras, camels and other wild animals. Even he has had close calls and serious injuries. These stunning creatures were not intended as pets and should only be in the right environment with skilled handlers; still the the worst could happen.
Megan and the Rescue Life family are some the most passionate animal lovers and advocates you’ll ever meet.
A day in the life of Megan begins at dusk and occasionally ends by sundown but not often. She’s rescuing in her in sleep. Each day is a new adventure from being super mom and wife, to animal rescue hero. Somehow, she juggles a thousand things and makes it look easy. She doesn’t miss a school or sporting event, a Birthday party and is held in high regards as an amazing friend! At the end of the day everyone has been attended to, fed, and had a hug. She is hands-on type with every aspect of Rescue Life from feeding and vetting to paperwork and everything in between. With a HUGE HEART OF GOLD, a little hay in her hair to goose feathers stuck to her clothes from her beloved Quackers, the goose who thinks he’s dog, it’s Megan’s mission to see every unwanted, abandoned, mistreated, or misplaced animal is protected and finds a loving home.
